IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 Security Certification now available

The people at IBM have just rolled out a brand-new certification test, called ‘IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 Implementing and Administering Security.’ This test is coded as Exam 190-841, and opens up a new doorway. If you are an IBM Certified System Administrator in Lotus Notes and Domino 8 and you pass Exam 190-841, you’ll earn an admittedly cool new title as an ‘IBM Certified Advanced Security Professional – Lotus Notes and Domino 8.’

There are a few key areas you can expect the test to ask you about: ‘installing and configuring,’ ‘mail,’ and ‘management and maintenance.’ That may sound simple, but it covers a lot of ground: everything from configuring the execution control list to understanding application design element security.

Of course, you can study up for the test right here at CertFX; we can provide you with the ‘IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 Implementing and Administering Security’ certification practice test you’ll need. As with all our IT certification study materials, our Exam 190-841 practice test includes plenty of information about every sort of question you’ll be asked.

And don’t forget—as always, you’re guaranteed to pass. There’s nothing standing between you and that Advanced Security Professional certification but some studying and a little bit of help from here.

IBM Workplace Exams Now Retired - Portal 5.1 Exams Retiring Soon

IBM Workplace, Portal 5.1 Exams and Certifications Retired

Five of IBM’s IT certification tests were recently retired: three Workplace exams and two Portal 5.1 tests are no longer available to be taken. The first of the Workplace exams that won’t be around any longer is Test 821, ‘Implementing and Administering IBM Workplace Collaboration Services 2.5: Messaging.’ Test 823, ‘Implementing and Administering IBM Workplace Collaboration Services 2.5: Team Collaboration’ and Test 833, ‘Creating Application Components Using IBM Workplace Designer 2.5’ have also been eliminated.

The Portal 5.1 tests that will no longer be given are Test 397, ‘IBM WebSphere Portal V5.1 – Development & Administration’ and Test 399, ‘IBM WebSphere Portal V5.1 – Application Development.’ Regrettably, as the above five tests are retired, so are their certifications.

Certifications provided by Tests 821, 823, 833, 397 and 399 are thus no longer available. If you were hoping to take one of these tests, it’s unfortunate; there’s simply no way to do so anymore. However, if you’re hoping to take another exam, CertFX can provide your certification practice tests. IBM still offers a great number of tests, including their Lotus line, and you can find the corresponding IBM certification study materials right on this site, along with a great many more. You can say it of tests, too: five exams may be gone, but there are plenty of fish in the sea.

New (At Last!): BlackBerry Certification Programs

BlackBerry has risen to become a market leader and the IT industry has formerly had to rely on documentation, service calls, and self training for issue resolution. BlackBerry use and troubleshooting skills are not just a ‘carnation in the buttonhole’ for IT staff, they’re currently a market must-have skill as there is a huge need for on-staff support of the device, with more than 21 million subscribers.

Thanks to BlackBerry’s new certification program, current IT staffers can stay on top of the market and improve their skills; those between IT jobs can help their odds of landing employment by certifying their BlackBerry skills and demonstrating their market proficiency.

The program provides a way of quantifying skills with BlackBerry products and services, and provides a wide range of certification options, catered to a variety of IT and non-IT roles. The certifications target IT technical professionals, from Server Support Specialists, Systems Administrators, Solution Designers, and more. They also target a range of skill sets and career interest levels, including Enterprise Application Developers, Certified Trainers, Sales Experts, Training Centers, Certified Resellers, and Expert Users.

The program will be offered by two testing leaders, Alpine Testing Solutions and Prometric, and will be available at more than 4700 test centers throughout 135 countries. Attendees can schedule courses at their preferred test center location and time. Exams are computer based and provide prompt results.
